About Emily

I’ve always been creatively curious, exploring ways of making from a young age; drawing, painting, writing, sewing, quilting, music. That curiosity took me to art school where I developed a painting practice rooted in the exploration of colour and the meaning of home.

Since then I’ve worked as an artist, writer, and arts educator, producing work and helping other artists develop their creativity through Studio Mates and art instruction. I now reside in St. John’s, NL, where I work from my home studio.

Work With Me

Say hey. You can always get me by email at emilypittmanart at gmail dot com, I’d love to hear from you. You can find me on InstagramYoutube, and Apple Podcasts.

Hire me. Get in touch if you want to talk about hiring me to coach or mentor you as an artist, edit your writing, paint you a mural, speak on your panel or podcast, teach a class or workshop, write for your magazine, design a beer can, edit your podcast audio, write you a love letter, edit your artwork photos, design your website, write your bio or website copy, organize your art inventory, or petsit your dog. Basically, if it involves speaking, writing, art making, designing, career planning, editing, or a cute animal, I am your girl!

Buy a painting or a book. If you’re in St. John’s, you can find my work at Christina Parker Gallery. If you’re looking for a book, they’re published by Trinity Bight Press and you can find them here.

Invite me over. Are you an art educator? Is your art class learning about careers in the arts? I’d love to talk their ears off. If you’re in St. John’s or the surrounding area, we can make this happen. If your art class is elsewhere, we can connect via Zoom, Google Meet, Teams, or whatever video conferencing app your classroom loves.

I also enjoy virtual and in person studio visits. I want to come see what you’re working on, so get in touch if you want a visitor! I love the chance to check out other people’s creative spaces.

Visit my class. On the flip side, if you’re an artist, arts administrator, or someone with a artsy job who also loves sharing what you do for other creatives at the start of their careers, I would love to let my college students pick your brain and learn about the cool things you do. Reach out to me at emily dot pittman at cna dot nl dot ca and come say hi to a group of curious artists who’d love to meet you.
